Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Outfox's services. By submitting a review form and making payment, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you have any questions, contact us at jack@getoutfox.co.uk before proceeding.
1. Who we are
Outfox is a trading name of Jack Mullen, operating as a sole trader in England and Wales. References to "Outfox", "we", "us", or "our" throughout these terms refer to Jack Mullen trading as Outfox. Our contact email is jack@getoutfox.co.uk.
2. What we do
Outfox provides a personal bill review service. When you engage us, we research your current broadband, mobile, TV, and streaming subscriptions, compare them against available alternatives, and produce a written report with personalised recommendations. We cover:
- Home broadband
- Mobile phone contracts and SIM-only plans
- Pay-TV packages (Sky, Virgin Media, BT TV, and others)
- Streaming and music subscriptions
We do not provide regulated financial advice. Our recommendations are informational in nature and based on publicly available market information at the time of your review. We are not a comparison website, a switching service, or an intermediary. We research and advise — you decide and act.
3. Fees and payment
This covers our research time and is payable regardless of outcome. It is non-refundable once we have begun work on your review.
Success fee: 20% of the savings identified in your report
This is calculated on the first year's value of the savings found and recommended in your report, and is invoiced at the point your report is delivered. The fee is based on savings identified — not savings you have already taken — reflecting the value of the research and recommendations provided. From year two onwards, the full saving is yours.
Payment of the £20 review fee is required before we begin your audit. Your success fee invoice will be issued alongside your report. It is itemised by recommendation so you can see exactly how the total is calculated.
Querying your invoice. If you do not intend to act on one or more recommendations, you have 14 days from receipt of your report to notify us at jack@getoutfox.co.uk. We will adjust your invoice to remove any items you confirm you will not be actioning. After 14 days, the invoice becomes due in full. By agreeing to these terms, you acknowledge and accept this billing process.
No saving found? If we are unable to identify an immediate saving, you pay the £20 review fee only. You will still receive a written report confirming your current arrangements and noting any future opportunities — for example, contracts that are not yet switchable but will become so at a future date. No success fee invoice will be issued unless and until a saving is identified and a further report is delivered.
All fees are quoted in pounds sterling and are inclusive of any applicable taxes. Outfox is not currently VAT registered.
4. What you need to provide
To complete your review, we require:
- Accurate information about your current providers, contracts, and monthly costs, provided via our review form
- A recent bill for each service you wish us to review, sent to jack@getoutfox.co.uk after submitting your form
The quality of your review depends on the accuracy and completeness of what you share with us. If information provided is materially inaccurate, we reserve the right to revise or withdraw recommendations. We are not responsible for any outcome arising from inaccurate information provided by you.
5. Delivery and turnaround
We aim to deliver your personalised report within 48 hours of receiving your completed review form, payment, and all requested bills. This is a target, not a contractual guarantee. During periods of high demand or where information is incomplete, turnaround may take longer. We will notify you if there is likely to be a significant delay.
6. Your responsibilities
All switching, cancellations, and contract negotiations are carried out by you, not by Outfox. Our role is to identify opportunities and tell you how to act on them. We are not responsible for:
- Any outcome arising from switches you choose to make or not make
- Early termination charges you may incur by switching mid-contract
- Changes in pricing or availability that occur after your report is delivered
- Service quality issues with any provider you switch to
- Any delay in actioning recommendations that results in a missed deal or price change
We recommend you check all deal details directly with the provider before committing to a switch.
7. No guarantee of savings
While many clients do identify meaningful savings, we cannot guarantee that a saving will be found in your specific circumstances. Market conditions, your contract status, your location, and your household's usage patterns all affect what is available. Savings figures used in our marketing materials represent illustrative examples and are not a guarantee of what you will save.
8. Referral fee disclosure
Outfox may introduce clients to third-party platforms and services — currently including Airtime Rewards and Sprive — where we may receive a small referral commission if you sign up using a link provided in your report. This is at no additional cost to you. These services are free to use.
We only recommend third-party services we genuinely believe are beneficial to clients. The existence of a referral relationship does not influence the core recommendations in your report. We disclose all referral relationships in full.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Outfox's total liability to you in connection with the services provided shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to Outfox in connection with the relevant review.
We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss arising from your use of our service or your reliance on our recommendations, including but not limited to loss of income, loss of savings, or costs incurred as a result of switching.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.
10. Intellectual property
Your personalised report is produced for your personal use only. You may share it with members of your household but may not reproduce, resell, or distribute it commercially without our written consent. All content on the Outfox website is owned by Jack Mullen and may not be reproduced without permission.
11. Data protection
We take the security and privacy of your personal data seriously. Outfox is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a data controller (registration number ZC126547). Your personal information is used to conduct your bill review and, where applicable, to follow up with you when future savings opportunities become available — for example, when a contract noted in your report becomes switchable. We will only contact you for this purpose where you have not objected, and you may opt out at any time by emailing jack@getoutfox.co.uk. Your data will never be sold to third parties. 12. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel your order at any time before we begin work on your review by contacting us at jack@getoutfox.co.uk. If you cancel before we have started your review, we will refund your £20 review fee in full.
Once we have begun your review — which we consider to be when we start researching your case, typically within 24 hours of receiving your form, payment, and bills — the £20 review fee is non-refundable. This is because the fee covers our time and research work, which will have begun.
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of purchase. However, by submitting your review form and paying the review fee, you are requesting that we begin work immediately. If you exercise your right to cancel after work has begun, we reserve the right to retain a proportion of the fee reflecting the work already completed.
13. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us in the first instance at jack@getoutfox.co.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint within 2 working days and aim to resolve it within 14 days. We take all feedback seriously and are committed to resolving issues fairly.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from or relating to these terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when the terms were last revised. Continued use of our services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will notify existing clients of material changes by email where possible.
